In Venice, tourists stole a gondola. Now they face a fine of 15,000 euros

Two young tourists from France decided to ride along the Grand Canal in Venice at night and did not think of anything better than stealing a gondola.

They untied the gondola left for the night and walked on it along the main waterway of the city – the Grand Canal. About an hour later, employees of one of the hotels in Venice noticed the violators and called a police patrol.

According to them, they drew attention to the unusual course of the boat: the attackers sailed on a gondola in the manner of a kayak or canoe, raking over the side, writes Corriere del Veneto.

Arriving police detained tourists. Now they face a fine of up to 15,000 euros. According to the owner of the gondola, Giorgio Bogliolo, during the skiing, the young French threw not only the decor of the gondola into the water, but also the documents, which is why he is temporarily unable to return to work. According to the gondolier, most of all he was upset by the laughter of young people and the fact that after the arrest they did not apologize to him.
