The stormy weather, which caused a lot of trouble to Istanbul and the seaside resorts of Turkey, seriously helped the country’s other ski resorts. In Turkey, they measured the depth of snow at the main ski resorts and with great joy announced the opening date of the new winter tourist season, which will come earlier than usual.
According to the Turkish press concerning the Main Directorate of Meteorology of Turkey, among the ski resorts, the highest height of the snow cover was recorded in Palandeken – 74 centimeters. As a result, the new ski season should start in mid-December — earlier than usual.
Such resorts as Uludag, Kartepe, Erjies, Palandoken, and Sarikamish have announced their readiness for the start. Hotels in ski resorts have accelerated preparations for the opening of the season.
