Tourists are no longer allowed to visit the Eiffel Tower in Paris (France).
According to French media, the reason for the restrictions is a union strike at the company that operates the tower. They accuse the city authorities of spending too little money on maintaining the popular attraction, express dissatisfaction with the instability of the economic funding model, and demand that their salaries be increased.
The duration of the protest has not been specified. In addition, employees of the company servicing the tower are threatening to go on strike during the Olympic Games, from July 26 to August 11.
Let us remind you that the Eiffel Tower receives about 6 million tourists every year.
