According to 20 Minutes, a man was taken to the hospital in Geneva, Switzerland after putting his head into the jet of the huge Jet d’Eau fountain.
The Jet d’Eau fountain is located in Lake Geneva, it is an important landmark of the city and one of the largest fountains in the world. By design, it is an artificial electric water cannon.
The jet height of the fountain is 147 m. It is capable of ejecting 500 liters of water per second at a speed of 200 km/h. Thus, there are 8 tons of water in the air at the same time. Because of this, approaching the fountain is strictly prohibited.
A young man is known to have broken through the fountain’s safety barrier, stuck his head under the jet, and was then thrown back. He decided not to give up and tried again, as a result he was thrown several meters up. The man fell on the slabs near the fountain, but got up and dived into the lake. By this time, rescuers had arrived by boat.
The young man was handed over to the doctors, in what condition he is now, it is not known.
