Authorities in the popular tourist province of Antalya have issued a warning about extremely high temperatures in the resorts of the region and the danger to the health of tourists, which is the heat. Thus, according to the statement of the officials of the province, quoted by the Turkish media, from July 19 to July 25 in Antalya, the thermometer will stay above +40°С.
It was stated that from Tuesday, July 19, until the evening hours of Monday, July 25, in the coastal areas, where the tourist flow was heading, the air temperature would range from +38°C to +44°C, and in the interior areas – from +32°C to +36°C.
According to meteorologists, it is expected that the air in the southern resorts of the country will warm up to temperatures above the average July: +44°С against the average +34.9°С. The difference between the temperature on the thermometer and the sensation will be small due to low humidity: according to experts, on abnormally hot days, the humidity will be between 10 and 30%. At the same time, strong winds of 40 to 60 km/h are expected from the north and northeast.
Authorities and health authorities have warned holidaymakers about the dangers of being outdoors in the scorching sun: high temperatures can cause spikes in blood pressure, rapid heart rate, angina attacks, and spasms of blood vessels. Long-term exposure to the sun is especially dangerous for people suffering from heart and blood vessel diseases.
