On Monday, June 19, a passenger on a Jeju Air plane flying from Cebu, Philippines to Incheon, South Korea, tried to open the doors of the plane during the flight, reports The Korea Times.
According to the airline, about an hour after takeoff, a Boeing 737 passenger carrying 180 people began to behave strangely and complained to the flight attendants about chest pressure.
The flight crew asked him to move to a seat next to the jump seats, but the man ran to the exit and tried to open the plane’s doors. Eyewitnesses claim that at the same time, he shouted: “I will open the doors and kill everyone.”
Flight attendants and other passengers managed to neutralize it. The flight continued for another three hours, and after the aircraft landed, the intruder was handed over to the police.
No one on board was hurt by his antics.
Recall that less than a month ago, a passenger of the South Korean airline Asiana Airlines named Lee opened the doors of the aircraft during landing. The board at that time was 213 meters from the ground. As a result, 12 passengers developed breathing problems due to panic, and nine required medical attention.
During the interrogation, Lee said that he was under great stress due to the loss of his job and opened the doors, as he wanted to quickly get out of the stuffy salon into the fresh air.
