Germany was officially warned about the new coronavirus epidemic. At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Health said that the biggest wave is expected at Christmas. Doesn’t this mean that tourism is being prepared for new closures? – asked the German press.
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the number of coronavirus cases continues to rise rapidly. In recent weeks, the incidence rate has increased by 54%, with the notorious weekly incidence rate reaching 1,700 new cases per 100,000 people.
“About 7 million people in Germany are currently suffering from coughs, colds, etc. At the same time, 167 thousand 225 diagnosed cases of coronavirus have been recorded since the beginning of October. Only last week, 24,015 of them were registered,” the institute said in a statement.
At the same time, tourists were scared that a big wave was expected in the high season, on Christmas. This was announced by Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach. “Everything now points to a big wave.”
At the same time, there was no talk of an official closure, but he urged everyone to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, to work from home if possible, and most importantly, to avoid Christmas parties in closed rooms. I advise you to be careful and stay away from everyday life. In the last two weeks before vacation, you should avoid all types of infections as much as possible,” added the head of the Ministry of Health.
