American flight attendant Christy Kerbel spoke about how flights have changed after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The stewardess gave some advice so that tourists could adapt to the new flight conditions.
The first thing she recommends doing is downloading your airline’s app. There are many advantages to having it on your phone. Thanks to it, passengers can check-in for their flight, track their luggage, determine where the aircraft is currently located, and be aware of their flight (after all, flights have become more often canceled or delayed recently).
Also, the flight attendant recommends that passengers traveling to some special event arrive at their destination a day earlier. In this case, if the flight is postponed or rescheduled, the passenger will still be on time. And if everything goes smoothly, then he will have a free day to relax.
The following advice applies to those who fly in transit. Christie Kerbel advises doing three-hour intervals between flights. Half an hour or an hour is not enough, the passenger runs the risk of not being able to catch his next flight.
The flight attendant also recommends not to be afraid of early departures (for example, at six in the morning). They are less likely to be delayed or canceled as there is less risk of weather or air traffic problems. And even if the flight is still disrupted, then the chance of rebooking the flight for the same day is higher.
The flight attendant also advises you to check your luggage and hand luggage in advance and make sure that they do not exceed the weight or size limits. Thus, you will avoid fines and will not detain yourself or other passengers.
