The rating was based on the average cost of the following services: accommodation in a five-star hotel, dining in a Michelin-starred restaurant, renting a luxury car, and staying one night in a spa hotel.
According to experts, Bangkok took first place in the ranking of affordable luxury destinations with a budget estimate of 9.49 out of 10. The capital of Thailand turned out to be the cheapest in terms of the cost of renting luxury cars – 48 pounds. The city is considered budget and in three other categories.
Brussels ranked second as an affordable destination across the board, especially when considering the cost of staying in a five-star hotel and renting a luxury car. The capital of Belgium is widely known for its exceptional chocolate, beer, and many cultural centers.
Verona, located in the northern part of Italy’s Veneto region, was the third most affordable luxury destination in the world, with an overall rating of 7.68. The birthplace of Romeo and Juliet will please with historical architecture, local culture, and gastronomy.
The top ten also include Osaka (Japan), Berlin (Germany), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and Lisbon (Portugal).
Other popular cities around the world have also been ranked among the world’s most affordable luxury travel destinations in just one of the criteria. For example, it turned out that Athens (Greece) is the most affordable city in terms of Michelin-starred restaurants. At the same time, the average cost of a complex dinner is about $ 104.
Hong Kong was the most affordable in terms of five-star accommodation at an average price of $292 per night. The cheapest choice, meanwhile, if you’re looking for a spa getaway is Osaka, where a single night in a spa hotel average around $178.
