Eight years in prison is threatened in Bali for the scandal with a 28-year-old tourist who was naked in the temple, who undressed during the service and started dancing. Residents “according to tradition” blamed the Russians, but the tourist turned out to be from Germany, although judging by the name of the exhibitionist, which is cited by the Indonesian press, it was not without Slavic roots here.
28-year-old Daria Tushchynska (as the local press calls her) could not buy a ticket for a performance in a temple in Ubud. In the end, it seems, the tourist decided to “pay extra” with striptease. At least, to the surprise of security, she took off all her clothes and went on stage during a Hindu dance show in Bali.
In a video shot by a resident, the tourist can be seen walking around the dancers, striking poses, and bowing to a local man who was trying to get her off the stage. Then she was filmed kneeling near the temple and pretending to pray. The dancers, it must be said, ignored the “show” “with impressive concentration,” as the media added.
The striptease lasted, considering everything, only a few minutes, while the security and the public understood what was happening. As a result, the tourist was taken out of the scene by the security service and handed over to the police. The author of the video, by the way, “usually” blamed the Russians, or rather some “Caucasians”, captioning the video literally as follows: “Well, why are Caucasians getting crazier” (“Well, why are Caucasians getting crazy?”)
However, it turned out that the tourist is from Germany. Moreover, she is a “long-term” resident of Bali and is well known to the local police for her inadequacy. As the representative of the Bali Police, Stephanus Satake Bayu Setianto, explained in the press, this is not the first report that a tourist undresses in public. “During her stay at Ubud Bungalow, she was often seen naked while walking around the villa grounds,” he said. He was joined by Ubud District Chairman Wayan Widana, who said the tourist was suffering from mental health problems and “she had money problems.” By the way, a ticket to the show costs about 11 dollars.
As a result, all showgoers who bought tickets received an official apology from the staff at Saraswati Temple in Ubud. “Then a cleansing ritual was performed to remove the bad energy left by the woman,” the media added. At the same time, the “stripper” faces charges of indecent behavior, and for this, the tourist can be sentenced to prison for a term of up to two years and eight months.
At the same time, there is no talk of introducing quotas for German tourists. However, it is recalled that between January and March 2023, the Director General of the Immigration Service stated that 620 foreigners were deported from Indonesia. Including disrespecting sacred places – in which the Russians also distinguished themselves. Thus, at the beginning of May, a group of Russian tourists was arrested in Bali for inappropriate behavior in the Pengubengan temple – a sacred place for residents and the largest Hindu temple on the resort island. The “offensive” incident was reported by the South China Morning Post. The Russians — two 35-year-old women and a 37-year-old man — were detained for dancing and posing inappropriately in a sacred place. At the same time, the police did not go into detail about the behavior of the Russians and why exactly their behavior was expressed as offensive.
Another Russian was involved in a scandal with sacred places and “baring” in March, violating the rules of staying on the resort island of Bali, and in a severe form: the man defiled the sacred Mount Agung with his actions. Having climbed to the top, he pulled down his pants, filmed this moment, and published it on the Internet. The island’s authorities condemned such shocking behavior. The violator faces deportation. According to Balidiscovery, the man pulled down his pants and raised his hands in a victory salute to celebrate his successful ascent of the mountain in such a strange way. His naked “triumph” was published on social networks.
