Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan commented to journalists on the prospects for tourism exchange with Russia. According to him, Turkey is aware that fewer tourists from Russia will come this year, therefore it is interested in guests from other countries.
As the President of Turkey noted, earlier 5 million tourists came from Russia, 2.1 million from Ukraine. Now, when the Russian-Ukrainian war is going on, one cannot count on such indicators. “It was very, very important to us. Now, of course, under such conditions, we cannot expect a similar situation. Therefore, now we are trying to attract tourists from different countries. Our Minister of Culture and Tourism is working on this,” TASS quoted Erdogan as saying to CNN Turk.
At the same time, the Turkish leader again assured that his country would not support sanctions against Russia.
