Tourism is moving towards the “realization of goals as much as possible”, but the high inflation in Turkey remains its main problem. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made such a statement after the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. He emphasized that Turkey expects to increase revenues from tourist services.
“Inflation, as before, remains our most serious problem. Now every country in the world is struggling with the threat of unprecedented inflation for the last 40-50 years. In Turkey, I hope that we will witness a rapid decrease in inflation in our country after the New Year,” Erdogan said.
He also announced that tourism is moving towards the realization of its goals this year, and the maximum. “Now in September, it is almost impossible to find empty seats in hotels, airplanes, and tourist facilities!” – declared the Turkish president.
“The growth of international tourism activity continues, despite the remaining risks associated with the outbreak of Covid-19 and the war in Ukraine. In this context, travel revenues are expected to continue their upward trend and exceed the pre-pandemic level of $34 billion,” Erdogan assured.
