Egypt is currently actively working on the creation of a new tourist resort, which will be located just 10 minutes from the airport of the popular Egyptian resort of Marsa Alam.
The project is being developed to attract mass tourism to Marsa Mares Bay, which is known for its popularity among divers, local press reports.
Investors including hotel company Jaz Hotel Group and Egypt’s largest tourism brand Travco Group International are preparing to make new investments in the Marsa Mares region. Jaz Hotel Group, which operates 58 hotel properties throughout Egypt, plans to develop this new resort area in Marsa Mares Bay.
According to media reports, ten hotels are planned to be built in the Marsa Mares area. The first of these, the five-star Iberotel Costa Mares, has already opened in 2020, despite the pandemic. Another five-star hotel with 272 rooms, Jazz Amara, is scheduled to open in November this year.
This region, with its coastline and spectacular underwater world, has long attracted divers. With the development of infrastructure, Egypt expects an increase in the number of tourists visiting the region.
