Positive forecasts for the number of tourists in 2024 may not come true due to another increase in COVID-19 cases, announced in Turkey.
Local hotels are seriously afraid of the start of a new pandemic, which could again leave hotels without tourists. Moreover, several Turkish tourism publications immediately picked up the panic wave.
As a result, hoteliers, not without reason, fear that a new COVID-19 pandemic could again leave the country without tourists, and judging by experience, both donor countries and the authorities of Turkey itself can ban travel to reduce the import of COVID-19.
The reason for concern is that the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that the number of Covid-19 cases has increased by 52% in a month.
At the same time, the mask regime has been partially reintroduced in Germany, where the number of cases has increased by 54% in recent weeks, according to data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). This was stated by the country’s Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach. According to German statistics, about 7 million people currently suffer from colds. Moreover, since the beginning of October, 167 thousand cases of “corona” have been recorded, of which 24 thousand last week.
The Turks also noted a high increase in COVID-19 in Poland, also a popular destination for Turkey. It also recorded the highest increase in mortality — 76%.
