Foreigners who temporarily leave the province of Bali will need to pay the tourist tax again upon return, The Bali Sun reports.
The new tourist tax in Bali will be introduced on February 14, 2024. Speaking to reporters, the head of Bali’s tourism department, Tjok Bagus Pemayun, confirmed that the new fee will officially come into force earlier than expected.
So, if tourists arrive in Bali and then take a speedboat to Gili and Lombok, or go to East Java and then return to Bali, they will have to pay the fee again when they return to the island.
It will cost them IDR 150,000 per person. Moreover, you will have to pay a tourist tax for a child, regardless of his age.
By the way, this does not apply to travelers visiting Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan, since these three islands are part of the Bali province.
