Another tourist country has surrendered in Europe: all previously imposed restrictions have been lifted

In another European resort country, the coronavirus was in fact removed from the agenda – in Portugal, the mask regime was abolished. The obligation to wear masks was lifted a few days earlier than expected. Also, tourists were required to fill out forms before entering the country.

The country’s Minister of Health, Marta Temido, announced the simplification of covert measures and, in particular, the removal of the mask regime after the relevant draft permits were approved at a cabinet meeting. “We are changing the structure because we understand that the circumstances of the pandemic have changed. Firstly, the protection provided by vaccinations and revaccinations is very high, and secondly, the summer months are also traditionally less favorable for the transmission of respiratory viruses.

Similar measures have recently been taken by Spain, where for the first time in two years it is allowed to visit almost all public places without masks, including restaurants and hotels. The only place where tourist masks are still needed is public transport. And this applies to both Spain and Portugal. Masks are also needed in medical facilities, including pharmacies.
