A Ukrainian tourist was arrested in Thailand for illegal work. According to The Tiger newspaper, the Ukrainian was detained by the Royal Thai Immigration Police after it was discovered that he was illegally working at a motorcycle rental company on Koh Pa Ngan Island in Surat Thani Province in southern Thailand.
According to the newspaper, the police took the 45-year-old Ukrainian red-handed: in the parking lot with 23 rented motorcycles after they were returned by tourists.
At first, the Ukrainian denied that he was working there. The police found out that the Ukrainian entered Thailand through the Satun Immigration Service in southern Thailand and was allowed to stay in the kingdom until May 18, 2023. But he does not have a work permit.
Representatives of the motorcycle rental company, which illegally hired a Ukrainian for work, were also detained. The investigation continues.
As the publication adds, Phuket’s immigration service also discovered 186 foreigners who overstayed their visas in Phuket during a seven-day raid. Moreover, most of them paid fines, and 4 people were even sent to prison – there are no Ukrainians among the last, an Egyptian citizen, one Danish citizen, one Burmese citizen, and one Chinese citizen were named among those arrested. In total, among those caught, the most Russians are 41 people.
