A cruise liner was detained in Italy due to a COVID-19 flash on board

According to the Ansa news agency, at least 150 people on board the cruise liner MSC Grandiosa, moored in the port of Genoa (Italy), are infected with coronavirus.

The liner, which arrived yesterday, January 3, from Marseilles, will not be able to leave Genoa until it is fully sanitized. Infected passengers have no symptoms or are very weak, most travelers are Italian citizens.

They are currently isolated in their cabins waiting for local health officials. They will be transported home by special vehicles, and foreign nationals will be temporarily placed in medical facilities in Genoa.
