Thirty victims, six of them seriously injured – this is the summary of the incident that happened to Russian tourists on the resort island of Phuket. A boat with 33 tourists on board – according to Thai media reports, all of them are Russians – crashed into concrete supports. Almost all tourists on board were injured.
The details are as follows – the excursion boat Thanatship Marine 55 was returning from Phi Phi Island to Cape Chalong. Just 700 meters from the pier, the boat crashed into a concrete fence that marks the safety of the canal, so that the concrete pillar of the fence almost “cut through” the nose of the pleasure boat.
The collision resulted in at least six tourists with serious injuries and another eight with moderate injuries, according to Thai media reports. A total of 33 tourists and 3 team members were on board. The injured had to be transported to at least seven hospitals in Phuket.
