According to Phuket News, the Martini pleasure boat with six Russian tourists on board sank off the coast of He Island near Phuket (Thailand).
It is clarified that yesterday the Russians chartered a boat. Two adults and four children aged from four to 14 years went for a walk in the sea. At about 15:50, while anchored off He Island, the ship suddenly began to fill with water as its pumping system from the engine compartment broke down.
The crew tried to cope with the breakdown on their own, but the boat quickly sank. All passengers and three crew members were taken on board the nearby ship Panwa Princess.
The owner of the vessel will appear in court for releasing a boat into the sea with an unregistered and not properly certified engine and without a license for tourist transport.
