Sweden has lifted almost all restrictions imposed in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, according to Swedish television SVT. Restrictions on the number of participants in public and private events are removed, and recommendations on remote work are terminated.
People with symptoms are advised to stay home and be tested for coronavirus. People who have not been fully vaccinated should keep their distance and avoid crowding.
“Everything that is being done now is based on the high level of vaccination in Sweden. In order to feel safe, it must grow even more. If you have not been vaccinated, now is the time to do it,” said state epidemiologist Anders Tenel.
According to the Swedish Public Health Agency, 83.6% of the country’s population received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 76.5% were fully vaccinated. A total of 1,151,173 cases have been reported in Sweden since the beginning of the pandemic.
