In Sweden, an antelope mauled a zookeeper to death

In Sweden, an antelope mauled a zoo employee to death, DPA and Associated Press reported concerning local media.

The man wanted to take her home after the park closed on Sunday evening, a police spokesman told Swedish radio. “Something happened to make the antelope kill him.” It belongs to the cana species, and its representatives are considered the largest antelopes in the world.

The owner of the park, Richard Berglund, explained that the employee had many years of experience, the BTA noted.

“It’s a sad day,” a man who witnessed the incident told Swedish radio. “We wanted to feed the animals, but suddenly an antelope attacked. We never had any problems with them before.”
