Thus, ECDC advised everyone to avoid unnecessary trips to Spain.

The decision to keep Spain in the dark red category was made after more than 500 cases per 100,000 population were detected in the country over the past 14 days.
On the other hand, more than 200 but less than 500 infections per 100,000 population have been reported in the Asturias region in the last two weeks. For this reason, this region is not considered as disturbed as the rest of Spanish territory.
Spain has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, given that the Spanish economy is heavily dependent on the tourism industry, the authorities have decided to allow entry for several arrivals from EU member states without introducing testing or quarantine requirements.
In addition, the EU Commission has previously emphasized that individual countries must decide whether they want to impose restrictions on those traveling to or returning from any high-risk country, which means that not all countries maintain strict restrictions on arrivals. from Spain.
However, this does not apply to those traveling to Austria, as the authorities of the latter have announced that strict measures apply to all those returning from Spain. It turned out that all persons entering the country are now required to present a negative PCR test result.
Germany has also imposed restrictions on everyone coming from Spain. According to a press release issued by the German Federal Ministry of Health, anyone arriving from Spain must provide a negative COVID-19 test result, medical evidence that the owner has been cured of the virus, or proof of vaccination.
On the contrary, unvaccinated travelers arriving from Spain must remain in isolation for ten days.
