Spanish authorities have arrested 23 properties, which are probably related to Russian businessmen, the newspaper “Pais” reported today, quotes TARS.
According to the newspaper, in the documents in the register of ownership of each of them is now marked: “Forbidden to dispose of.” They are probably owned by Russian businessmen or their associates. Currently, there are 29 real estate in Spain, which are suspected of links with Russian businessmen.
The publication clarifies that since the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine, the Spanish government has set up a working group that includes experts from various fields, from police to notaries and property registration officials, who exchange documents and information. In addition, some time ago, the Spanish authorities approved a special mechanism that simplifies the procedure of seizure of property that may be related to Russian businessmen. It is a system that allows the seizure of property of businessmen who are on the EU sanctions list, even if it is registered in the name of third parties or companies.
Earlier, “Pais” reported that 34 real estate objects related to Russian businessmen were found in Spain.
