Washington has imposed sanctions on 328 Russian State Duma deputies and 48 defense companies, according to AFP.
The United States has announced a new wave of sanctions against Russian lawmakers, oligarchs and defense companies in response to the invasion of Ukraine, the White House said.
The measures, including the freezing of US assets, target 328 members of Russia’s lower house and 48 defense companies “feeding President Vladimir Putin’s military machine,” US President Joe Biden said in a statement at the Brussels summit.
The US Treasury is also imposing sanctions on gold transactions involving the Bank of Russia.
“The US Treasury Department has expanded the scope of the existing sanctions to include all gold transactions of the Central Bank of Russia,” the Treasury Department said in a statement.
