Internet marketer Alexander Zobov promised to release the Russian analogue of Instagram – Rossgram – on March 28, TASS reports.
According to him, consumer access will be opened in April 2022. “On March 28, 2022, the Russian analogue of Instagram will be released with the usual functionality and mobile applications for Android and iOS. Consumer access will open in April 2022.”
Also, Rossgram will have additional monetization tools for users – paid access to content, a fundraising function, and so on. The social network is also working on the function of transferring data from Instagram. At first, access will be open to bloggers, sponsors and investors, and in April to other users.
On March 14, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media of Russia restricted access to Instagram in Russia. According to the agency, access to the social network is limited due to the spread of calls for violence against Russians, including the military.
This comes after Meta (owner of Facebook and Instagram) announced that they are changing their rules to limit hate speech and incitement to violence. The social network allowed death calls “temporarily”, the change affected consumers in Ukraine and several other countries.
