Polish Ambassador to Kyiv Bartosz Chihotsky told TVP Info about the situation in the Ukrainian capital. According to him, now it is relatively calm there, the most fierce battles are taking place on the northwestern outskirts of the city. “Kyiv has not suffered from such a humanitarian crisis as other cities besieged by the Russians,” he said.
Bartosz Chihotsky also assured that he did not intend to leave the capital of Ukraine. He added that the Polish Embassy is functioning and helping with the evacuation. According to him, the people of Kiev are grateful to Poland and the Poles for the solidarity and support they provide to Ukraine in the face of the Russian invasion. The ambassador also stressed that the defenders believed in victory and their fighting spirit was very high.
“Russia has no human life for free”
The diplomat said that he himself was involved in the evacuation of Polish citizens and holders of the Pole’s Card in the last hours. He pointed out that “there was a lot of physical and psychological work because it traumatized and stressed people.”

The Polish Ambassador to Kyiv also added that the main problem facing Ukraine now is the lack of weapons. He added that there is no shortage of those willing to fight, but very often reserve soldiers are sent to help civilians.
