Sergei Aksyonov announced the possible nationalization of some hotels and boarding houses on the peninsula. We are talking about accommodation facilities that belong to Ukrainian citizens who openly oppose Russia.
According to him, the authorities of the region, together with the Federal Security Service, have already begun to identify Ukrainians who own property in Crimea and support the Kyiv regime. “We have a nationalization tool, so we have introduced restrictions on all potential objects that have already been identified. They will not leave us anywhere,” the head of the republic explained during a meeting with the government.
He also added that ordinary citizens of Ukraine who do not conduct any anti-Russian propaganda activities in the public field will not be subject to these measures.
Note that Sergei Aksyonov did not specify what specific number of accommodation facilities he is talking about and how exactly the process of real estate nationalization will look like. Nevertheless, after the annexation of Crimea in 2014, quite a lot of hotels remained in the ownership of Ukrainian citizens.
