Ukraine is going to build European railways to the border by the end of 2023. This will allow connecting Warsaw and Lviv by direct trains.
The first section has already begun to be built. The lines will run from the Ukrainian city of Rava-Ruska to the Polish village of Hrebenne. Ukrzaliznytsia hopes that this will unload the roads and increase the number of train trips.
There are also plans to build new routes from Krakow to Lviv through the Polish village of Mediki. But when they will take up the implementation of this project is still unknown.
