Western leaders have agreed to continue to provide maximum support to Ukraine, but without direct intervention in the war, and to strengthen Russia’s international isolation.
This became clear after a video conference attended by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and their counterparts from other Western countries, according to Reuters, citing BTA.
According to Scholz, Russian leader Vladimir Putin wants to impose peaceful conditions by force, which are unacceptable.
Support for Kyiv will continue to be financial and in the form of weapons. Germany and its partners will supply long-range artillery to the Ukrainian army.
Europe, for its part, will work to diversify energy supplies and reduce dependence on Russia in this area, according to BTA.
