More than 60 countries have called for the safe departure of foreigners from Afghanistan, according to a statement issued by the US State Department.
The call was supported by the United States, France, Germany, Ukraine, Italy and the United Kingdom.
“Given the deteriorating security situation, we support … and call on all parties to respect and facilitate the safe and orderly departure of foreign nationals and Afghans who wish to leave the country,” the statement said.
The signatories also call for keeping roads, airports and border crossings open and maintaining order in the region.
