Scientists have conducted research and found that long-lived people eat

Environmental influences, diet and lifestyle play a huge role in determining life expectancy.

American scientist Dan Buttner studied the eating habits of the elderly.

According to the scientist, there are five so-called blue zones on the planet. “Blue zone” is a non-scientific term coined by a researcher to refer to geographical regions where people have lived for more than a hundred years without any problems. These are Ikaria (Greece), Ogliastra, Sardinia (Italy), Okinawa (Japan), Nicoya Island (Costa Rica), Loma Linda, California (USA).

All elderly people from these places have similar eating habits. They do not eat fast food – such foods are high in cholesterol, which increases the risk of obesity and heart attack. In addition, the diet of these people is virtually absent flour products, as well as products containing sugar.

Buttner recommends reducing sugar intake to 7 teaspoons, or 28 g per day. In addition, he advises to reduce the consumption of red meat and meat products – sausages, bacon and more. They have too much salt and preservatives, which increase the risk of coronary heart disease by 18%, red meat increases it by 9%.

The scientist noted that centuries-old people regularly eat beans, whole grains and drink red wine.

These tests cannot be equated with a doctor’s appointment. Consult a specialist before making a decision.
