In the last 24 hours, the Chinese authorities have registered 2,461 confirmed cases of COVID-19. This is stated in a statement issued today by the State Committee for Hygiene and Health of China, quoted by TARS.
According to the document, 73 of the confirmed cases were imported from outside, and 2388 were related to local transmission of the virus. The highest numbers of infections were recorded in Jilin (1834), Fujian (113), Guangdong (74), Shandong (61), as well as in Tianjin (61) and Shanghai (57). Seven new infections have been reported in Beijing in the past 24 hours.

From the beginning of April 2020, the Chinese authorities will publish separate statistics on asymptomatic patients. In the last 24 hours, 1,904 asymptomatic cases were reported, of which 162 were brought in from outside and 1,742 from local transmission.
