Authorities have closed schools in Shanghai and isolated several cities in northeastern China due to an outbreak across the country. More than 10 provinces are trying to cope with local outbreaks.
Residents of the large city of Jilin, where more than 500 cases of omicron coronavirus have been reported, have completed the sixth round of mandatory diagnostic tests. The city is partially surrounded, this event affected hundreds of districts within it. The neighboring city of Changchun was already closed on Friday.
China’s borders remain virtually closed, and the authorities continue to take a zero-tolerance approach to the virus.
