For tourism, a covid-related alarm sounded once again – a new strain of Covid-19 called “Kraken” has arrived in Europe, which most likely means that European tourists will bring it to the resorts of Egypt and Turkey, which in the 2022 year, all restrictions were completely removed. As a result, some experts fear that the situation may repeat itself on the eve of the first wave of the coronavirus when Turkey tried to ignore the problem until the last – and this led to the closure of the resort and the introduction of strict quarantine measures in all hotels.
Currently, “Kraken” is distributed in the territory of the United States. Cases of the virus have also been recorded in Denmark, France, Austria, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Iceland, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Portugal, and Ireland. At the same time, “Kraken” is spreading quickly, “most likely because it has some advantages over the currently dominant omicron strains,” experts note.
As a result, there is a risk that the Kraken will spread across Europe within the next month, and with European travelers and beyond. First, to Turkey and Egypt, where European tourists go en masse.
