Russia has said it has significantly increased the number of European Union officials, lawmakers, public figures and journalists barred from entering its territory for allegedly being responsible for imposing sanctions on Moscow and inciting anti-Russian sentiment, according to Reuters.
“Restrictions apply to the EU’s top leadership, including a number of EU commissioners and heads of military structures, as well as the vast majority of MEPs who promote anti-Russian policies,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Moscow has said that its blacklist also includes representatives of some EU countries, public figures and journalists who, it said, “are personally responsible for promoting illegal anti-Russian sanctions, inciting Russophobic sentiments and violating the rights and freedoms of the Russian-speaking population.”
