Poland has proposed to the European Union to impose a total ban on trade with Russia, said today the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki, according to Reuters.
He said it should be done as soon as possible, and the ban should apply to trade in sea and land. “The cessation of trade with Russia will put additional pressure on Russia to consider whether it is better to end this brutal war.”
Earlier this week, EU countries adopted a fourth package of sanctions against Russia. No details were announced, but France, which holds the presidency of the union, said Russia would be stripped of its “most favored nation” status.
