The Czech authorities added Monaco to the dark red category; at the same time, Estonia, Iceland, the Netherlands and Madeira were placed in the red category, confirmed the Czech Ministry of Health.
The new changes mean that travelers from the above-mentioned countries will be subjected to double testing when planning to enter the country of Central Europe.
According to the ministry, the decision was made after a recent surge in the number of cases of COVID-19 infection in these areas, according to data provided by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). The new changes will take effect on August 9.
Newcomers from the red and dark red categories are required to fill in the registration form and pass the PCR or rapid antigen test before arriving in the Czech Republic, no earlier than the fifth day after entering the Czech Republic and no later than the 14th day of their stay. . Travelers should remain in isolation until they receive a second test result.
Currently, the following countries are included in the red category:

The Canary Islands, as well as Portugal, including the Azores and Madeira.

European countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Hungary, Germany, Norway, Poland, Austria, Northern Macedonia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Vatican City State.
Non-European countries: Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Canada, Qatar, Lebanon, Macau, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, USA and Taiwan.
Travelers arriving in the Czech Republic from the green and orange categories must provide a form of arrival. They must also present a negative PCR or antigen test result before entering the country or within the first five days after arrival.
All areas that are not on the above lists fall into the group of countries with a high risk of infection, known as the dark red category.
Be that as it may, the Government of the Czech Republic has previously clarified that fully vaccinated persons and those who have recovered from the disease are not subject to entry requirements.
The Czech Ministry of Health is also urging its citizens to avoid secondary travel to several countries due to the spread of new strains of coronavirus.
