Starting this week, travelers from Spain, Belgium, Lithuania, Sweden and Serbia must undergo double testing to be allowed to enter Cyprus, as the country has added those countries to its red list.
According to the weekly epidemiological risk assessment of Cyprus, countries such as Austria, Bulgaria, Latvia and Slovenia have been added to the orange list, introducing new and stricter rules for travelers arriving from these countries.
Thus, passengers arriving from countries on the green list, which is a low-risk country due to their current situation with COVID-19, are not required to present a test certificate or isolate themselves upon arrival on the island.
Cyprus Green List Countries:
EU member states: Germany, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic.
Third countries: Australia, Jordan, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore.
While Austria, Bulgaria, Latvia and Slovenia were moved from the green list to the orange list, third countries, such as Serbia, were added to the red list.
Orange countries representing countries with moderately high risk are considered countries as indicated in the following list:
EU member states: Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Finland.
EU microstates: Vatican
Schengen area: Liechtenstein, Norway
Third countries: Northern Macedonia, Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), Bahrain, Saudi Arabia.
Travelers arriving from these countries must provide negative evidence of a PCR test conducted 72 hours before the trip to Cyprus.
On the other hand, passengers arriving from the countries on the red list are subject to double testing, ie they must provide a certificate of negative PCR result obtained 72 hours before arrival in Cyprus, and conduct a test upon arrival. The traveler must also cover his testing costs and remain in quarantine until the test result is known.

The latest data published by the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that no deaths caused by coronavirusjv have been reported in Cyprus, but 165 people are reported to be infected with the virus. Since January 2020, 456 people have died in the country, and 108,872 people have been infected with COVID-19.
Cyprus is running a successful vaccination campaign: 75.8% of the population has been vaccinated with a single dose of COVID and 69.1% are fully immunized against coronavirus.
