China has imposed a full lockdown on yet another industrial city of 9 million. According to experts, the country’s strategy for zero Covid-19 is in question due to a new wave of Omicron.
Health officials have reported almost 5,000 new cases across the country, most of them in the northeastern province of Jilin.
And the city of Shenyang, in the neighboring province, was placed under quarantine after 47 new cases were reported. The authorities transferred all residential complexes to closed management and forbade residents to leave the city without a negative test.
