Ashgabat and Baku are negotiating on joint development of the Dostluk field in the Caspian

Ashgabat hosts a meeting of a joint Turkmen-Azerbaijani working group on the implementation of a memorandum between the governments of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan on the joint development of hydrocarbon resources of the Dostluk field in the Caspian Sea. This was reported by the Turkmen television, the website turkmenistan.gov.tm reports.

The television report shown in the Vatan news program notes that the Memorandum on the Dostluk field was signed on January 21 of this year by the foreign ministers of the two states in Ashgabat, and in accordance with Article 3 of the document, the parties are preparing an appropriate Turkmen-Azerbaijani intergovernmental agreement.

The message emphasizes that the main purpose of this document is the joint use of hydrocarbon resources of the Dostluk field.

It is also noted that earlier, for the implementation of this project, an agreement was reached on attracting the Russian company Lukoil as a contractor.
