After swimming in Australia’s famous Lake Mackenzie, my hair began to fall out in clumps. With this message about her health, the girl excited the tourist community on social networks. At the same time, experts questioned the connection between this incident and the water in the lake.
A traveler from Scotland shared her unpleasant experience after swimming in Lake Mackenzie on Fraser Island, Queensland. According to her, after she swam in the water, she began to notice clumps of hair falling out from her head. The lake is to blame for this, the tourist assured: “There were huge chunks in my soul. Please be careful if you travel to Fraser Island.”
Gillon stressed that her hair was fine before the trip and believed that either the lake or the water in Australia hurt her hair. Several other travelers also reported hair problems after swimming in the lake, but some did not notice any problems.
However, professor of water management and environmental engineering Ataur Rahman objected to the girl and gave several arguments why the lake could not cause such a reaction.
“The lake is not connected to urban areas or agricultural land,” the professor noted. — There are no pesticides, herbicides, or any other pollutants that could cause hair loss. The lake has low mineral content. This means it is good for your skin and health.
The expert also suggested that allergies or exposure to chemicals from other bodies of water could be a possible cause. Before swimming in any body of water, he recommended using oil or other hair protection products and after visiting the water, washing your hair with shampoo.
“When people travel abroad, temperature differences and stress can hurt their body — something that may be the case here,” he added.
Despite the mysterious circumstances, the tourist reported that she was slowly recovering, using a mask to restore her hair. She urged other travelers to be vigilant and warned against possible negative consequences after swimming in Lake Mackenzie.
