The top 10 countries in which it is easiest to get a Schengen visa for the summer of 2023 were presented by Schengenvisainfo.
However, the list is not universal, for different countries, different rules, and quotas. For example, almost half of the list participants do not issue tourist visas to Russian tourists in principle. Foreigners were also warned that they should not try to get a Schengen visa in one country, including the countries presented in the rating, and instead plan a trip to another, as this is called “buying a visa” and is strongly condemned by the countries of the Schengen Agreement.
The presented ranking states that the ten countries with the lowest rejection rates in the same year look like this, from highest to lowest:
- Italy – 12.7%
- Greece – 12.5%
- Switzerland – 12%
- Poland – 11.6%
- Luxembourg – 10.5%
- Finland – 9.7%
- Slovakia – 9.7%
- Latvia – 9.5%
- Lithuania – 7.8%
- Iceland – only 1.9%
We will remind that among them Poland, Finland, Slovakia, as well as the Baltic States, i.e. Lithuania and Latvia, refuse to issue visas to Russians. For other tourists, the countries with the highest refusal rates were mentioned as Malta, Sweden, Belgium, and France.
France is the Schengen country with the highest number of visa rejections, with French authorities abroad rejecting a total of 408,876 applications last year out of almost two million applications.
