Poland was named the most loyal country in Europe for issuing work visas. This was reported by the local publication Rzeczpospolita
Over the past three years, the country has attracted almost two million new workers from countries outside the European Union. It is noted that 600 thousand visas were issued in 2020, and 790 thousand in 2021. For comparison: in the same year, Germany provided 18 thousands work visas, the Czech Republic – 41 thousand, and Italy approved 50 thousand visas for expats.
According to the publication, executive bodies often ignore the rules for issuing visas.
“The country does not systematically check whether visa holders get a job. And sporadic checks reveal gross violations. A Polish visa is a ticket to the West for foreigners living outside the European Union,” the publication notes.
As an example, the Polish publication cites a case where border services and a local businessman “sold” places and registered foreigners with the employment service. After which they received their long-awaited work visas.
