Saudi Arabia is resuming the government’s visa-on-arrival program for foreign nationals. This is reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
Holders of valid open visas of the USA, Great Britain and the Schengen zone can issue an annual entry document upon arrival in the country. At the same time, tourists must arrive in Saudi Arabia on a flight of one of the national carriers – Saudia, Flynas or Flyadeal, and also purchase a special insurance policy at any airport in the state in case of infection with COVID-19.
In addition, the visa-on-arrival rule also applies to citizens of countries that participate in the e-visa program. At the same time, tourists do not have to choose a specific airline to enter the state.
“The restoration of the program marks the latest step in Saudi Arabia returning to pre-pandemic levels of openness to tourists,” said Ahmed al-Khatib, the kingdom’s tourism minister.
Requesting an e-visa in advance saves passengers from having to waste time obtaining a visa at the airport. The rest of the entry permits are completely identical.
As far as covid requirements are concerned, Saudi Arabia lifted all travel restrictions into the country as early as March 6. Travelers are exempted from the need to present vaccination certificates and PCR tests at the border.
