Now Ukrainians can get an electronic tourist visa to Egypt

As part of the state’s efforts to encourage more tourist traffic, Egypt allows passport holders from 74 countries, including Ukraine, to obtain an electronic tourist visa.

Egypt is facilitating the procedure for obtaining electronic tourist visas by adding 28 new citizenships to the 46 nationalities covered by the system.

Gada Shalabi, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism, said that the modernization of this system was timed to the first anniversary of the resumption of inbound tourism in Egypt.

The country closed its borders to incoming international flights in March 2020 due to a new coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), but opened airports for such flights on July 1, 2020.

Shalabi noted that this update will help attract more tourists of different nationalities to visit Egypt.

She said that the portal for obtaining a tourist visa in electronic form is supported in eight languages, and also allows you to answer various tourist requests.

According to the instructions on the visa website, a tourist applying online through the portal will need to make sure that he arrives in Egypt with the following documents:

  1. passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival;
  2. printout of his electronic visa;
  3. a copy of the travel route;
  4. cover letter (for business trips or family visits);
  5. Detailed information about booking hotels and places that tourists intend to visit.

The system provides a secure electronic payment function for a tourist visa, which is $ 25 for one trip or $ 60 for several trips, with a visa issued for a maximum of seven days.

The cost of a visa to visit Egypt for tourist purposes is:

  • One-time visa $ 25
  • Multiple-entry visa $ 60

Shalabi added that these measures will have a positive impact on increasing the influx of tourists to Egypt. She noted that tourists can obtain an e-visa at the following link: https://www.visa2egypt.gov.eg/.
