From October 1, 2025, India has officially switched to a digital arrival system. All foreign travelers must now fill out an online e-Arrival Card before entering the country via the Bureau of Immigration website, Indian Visa Online portal, or the Su-Swagatam mobile app.
This innovation aims to reduce airport lines and processing time while improving security and convenience. The e-Arrival Card automatically integrates with the immigration database, minimizing manual errors and allowing real-time verification of traveler data.
Authorities emphasize that this is part of India’s strategy to become a leading smart tourism destination where technology makes travel seamless and stress-free.
