Georgia proposes to reduce visa-free stay for Russians

A resolution was submitted to the Georgian Parliament on the need to reduce the period of visa-free stay in the country of citizens of the Russian Federation. The opposition party “For Georgia” came up with such an initiative.

The resolution has already been registered in Parliament. The deputies called for limiting the uncontrolled migration of Russians, reducing the period of their visa-free stay, and also leaving the restriction on air travel in place.

Russians do not currently require a visa to visit Georgia. Russians can stay in the country without a visa for 360 days a year. They only need to cross the border to continue their legal stay. Since July 2019, there have been no direct flights between the countries.
