Canada has announced the introduction of a new immigration program that will allow Ukrainians fleeing the war to obtain a temporary residence permit for up to three years, according to Agence France-Presse.
In the communiqué, Ottawa clarified that applicants wishing to take advantage of the new “special provision and expedite obtaining a temporary residence permit” must submit an application electronically and add their biometric data (fingerprints and photo).
Ukrainian refugees can apply for a work permit and free education at the same time.
Canada, which has a significant Ukrainian diaspora in its central and western regions, also allows Ukrainians who have already settled in Canada and their families to take advantage of the new provisions.
