Albania canceled the visa-free tourist regime for citizens of Russia.
As reported on the page of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Albania on the Facebook social network, on April 20, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania decided to exclude Russia from the list of countries whose citizens have the right to visa-free travel for tourist purposes for the period from April 20 to December 31.
“We are grateful to our Albanian friends for their solidarity and support of Ukraine in the fight against the Russian occupiers,” the embassy notes.
As reported by DIP, on September 6, 2022, the European Commission proposed to the Council of the EU to completely suspend the agreement on the simplified visa regime with the Russian Federation.
On the same day, President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the leaders of the European Union for the decision on visa restrictions for Russians and emphasized that, in addition to the moral side, this is also a matter of elementary security.
On September 9, 2022, the Council of the European Union approved the complete termination of the agreement on the simplified visa regime with the Russian Federation.
And already on September 13, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, announced that Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Denmark, Belgium, and the Netherlands currently do not accept documents for issuing tourist visas from Russians.
